Biography
Erik P. Smith, is one of three partners and an experienced mediator/arbitrator at River’s Edge Mediation Center. Mr. Smith has practiced law over 25 years and has vast experience as a trial lawyer in a variety of legal matters including Business Litigation, Personal Injury Litigation, Probate and Estate Planning, Family Law, Real Estate Litigation/Transactions, Guardianships, Conservatorships, and Criminal Defense. Mr. Smith has extensive experience in all types of mediation and arbitration and is an Idaho Supreme Court Certified Mediator. He is also a certified Title IX investigator, hearing officer, and appeals officers.
Mr. Smith developed his own solo practice for over 20 years before becoming a partner at Lake City Law PLLC. Mr. Smith’s wide-ranging legal experience has more than prepared him for the vigorous mediation practice that he has built and enjoying as a current partner at River’s Edge Mediation Center.
Mr. Smith is licensed in both State and Federal court for both Idaho and Washington. Mr. Smith was raised in CDA and went on to graduate from CHS class of 1984, Seattle Pacific University, and obtained his J.D. from University of Idaho College of Law. He has an active role in the community which includes his work as an Advisory Board member for the Salvation Army Kroc Community Center, President of the Board for the Coeur d’ Alene Swim Team (CAST), CDA Church of the Nazarene board member, and as General Counsel for the Board of Trustees of Kootenai Bridge Academy Charter School.
