Biography

Peter C. Erbland has practiced law in Idaho for over forty years and has served as a mediator in thousands of cases over the past thirty years. In joining River’s Edge Mediation, Mr. Erbland brings the experience of having litigated and tried many civil cases of all varieties, including personal injury, business and professional disputes, as well as property, trust and estate matters.

Mr. Erbland also served as Chief of the Criminal Justice Division of the Office of the Idaho Attorney General and he was the former Chief Deputy Prosecutor for Kootenai County, Idaho. His civil litigation practice emphasizes the defense of individuals, business entities, insurance companies and governmental entities in state and federal courts, both at the trial and appellate levels, with specific focus on employment and civil rights claims. His vast legal experience allows him to bring a breadth of knowledge and information, both legal and practical, to his mediation practice.

Mr. Erbland also regularly serves as an arbitrator and discovery master both through private selection and court appointment.

As a mediator, Mr. Erbland is known for his patience, respect of all concerned in the process and persistence in helping parties to reach decisions for resolution of their disputes.
